SPRAY AND ATOMISER FUNGICIDE APPLICATION SYSTEMS FOR USE ON PLUM PACK LINES
De Kock, V.A., 2019, ‘Research on spray and atomiser fungicide application systems for use on plum pack lines’, SA Fruit Journal, Feb – March, 69 – 74.
The in-pack line fungicide application system tested were: high volume sprays, high volume atomisers, low volume atomisers and electrostatic spays. Efficacy was established using deposition and residue analysis as well as decay control. The type of fungicide applied had a more profound effect on decay control then the applicator type. Fungicide with the active ingredient Fludioxonil applied to plums using standard low volume atomisers gave good control of Botrytis decay and residues were well within the MRL.
